Yorkshire Gold Tea a Great Blend

If you are looking for a good, full bodied tea you may find that the Yorkshire Gold tea is a great choice. It is made from a blend of teas harvested from India and African countries. The tea itself has a slight malt taste and it is a rich blend that is perfect with a little milk and sweetener added.

It is readily available in most supermarkets in the UK and has been for many years. However, more recently it has also become available to tea lovers worldwide, online.  It is sold by some online tea shops and is also available for purchase at Amazon.

The tea is sold in teabag and as loose tea.  If you are planning on drinking it as a loose tea you should make it to the same proportion as most other black, loose tea; that is one teaspoon per cup and an additional teaspoon added ‘for the pot’.  Two teabags will make two cups of tea, if added to a teapot.   One teabag per teacup or mug is also sufficient if brewing directly in a mug or cup.

When brewing this tea, or any black tea—the same does not apply however if brewing a Chinese tea, such as wulong tea—you should start off with freshly brewed water.  Freshly brewed water is well oxygenated which is important for tea. However, if you re-boil a kettle of tea without first changing the water you will find that the water is not as oxygenated thus the tea will end up tasting a little flat and the rich, full flavor of the tea will not be as obvious.

It is said that Yorkshire Gold tea makes a great morning cup of tea. Of course it can be consumed at any hour during the day or evening, however it does definitely give you a nice start to the day as it is rich and strong, without being at all bitter. One of the better black tea blends available; it is well worth trying if you are a tea lover.
