I believe it is very important to know as much as possible about the use of solar energy because within decades it will become our most prominent energy source. You might have notices that the US is very dependable on oil coming in from the East but within a few decades most of these fossil fuels will be depleted. Mankind is already looking for alternative energy sources because we will still need to heat our houses and drive our cars when fossil fuels will be gone. Luckily solar energy is already proving to be a worthy substitute for oil and gas.

In this article I want to outline solar energy, pros and cons. There are indeed many advantages to the use of solar energy but sadly there are also some disadvantages to using it. The biggest pros on using solar energy is that it is safe for our environment and it is much cheaper to use it. We don’t have to dig holes in to the ground in order to find solar energy because sun rays are always there to collect. Solar energy is a source of energy that will never get depleted. Other advantages are that you can install solar panels on all remote places on earth. Especially in the US or in South America there are places that are very remote and thus not able to get connected to the electricity network. In this case not only will using solar panels be much cheaper, it will also be much easier to install because all you need are some solar panels on the top of your roof.

So why is not everyone using solar energy when it has so many pros? Well there are also some cons to using solar energy. Probably the most important cons are that the initial costs for the panels are quite expensive. Other issues are that you need to live in areas where there is a lot of sun and you need to install solar panels on your roof. Obviously this will be a problem when you live in a large city.

Although there are some cons on using solar energy, eventually it will become our main power source. It will only be a matter of time until we will all use solar energy.
