5 Top exercises for six pack abs

1. Hanging knee rises

You can only do this exercise if you have access to a captain’s deck chair. This is how you do the exercise. Position yourself in a captains deck chair with your arms supported in the arm rests. Bend your knees and slowly bring your knees into your chest by curling up your tailbone with your abs. Slowly lower them to the ground with your legs parallel to the ground.

2. Abs bicycles

Lie on your back with your hips and legs at 90 degree angles with your head and your shoulders slightly lifted off the ground. Crunch your left side off the floor while simultaneously bringing your left elbow and your right knee together. Extend your right knee out and crunch your right side up towards your left knee with your elbow.

3. Stability ball plank holds

This is like the normal plan exercise, but you perform it on a stability ball to increase the effectiveness. Position yourself with your forearms on the stability ball and you on your toes. Hold this position for a long as you can.

4. Stability ball crunches

Get in position by placing your lower back on top of the ball. Slowly crunch up and hold the position for a few seconds before lowering it.

5. Oblique crunches

Lie on an exercise mat on your back with your feet on the floor and your knees bent at a 90 degree angle. Crunch your left side towards your right knee and then your right side towards your left knee.
